This week, we’re sharing insights from ED Nurse Jerona, who’s thriving in the world of travel nursing, supported by her consultant, Kerry.
What advice would you give to other nurses considering locum or agency work?
You can choose to climb the ladder in the same department but I pursued the dynamics of working interstate with different pathways, policies and teams. The mentors I seek, challenge themselves professionally and personally and that’s more admirable to me. Change happens where there is discomfort!
What’s one thing you’d say about your experience with BluePrint Nursing?
One thing is hard. Working with Blueprint has been a highlight. My consultant Kerry is kind, professional, and transparent. She is exceptional at navigating my availability, providing honest updates and if needed, suggesting alternative options specific to my requested locations. Kerry checks in during my contracts and always seeks feedback on my contracts to relay to her other candidates. She will advocate and escalate if I notify a query or concern. Working with Kerry is like being rostered on with your work bestie… if you know, you know!
What’s one thing you wish you knew before starting agency work?
I wish I knew the travel would become addictive and one may find it hard to transition back into a ‘normal life.’
