This week, we\u2019re sharing the story of Nurse Emmalie, who recently completed her first placement with support from recruitment consultant Jake.<\/p>\n

You were starting out in contract nursing for the first time. How did you feel at the beginning, and what has the experience been like?<\/h3>\n

I was nervous about starting contract work, worried about new environments and how it would all work. I was worried I would be stuck somewhere I didn\u2019t like. But after finishing my first contract in Alice Springs I\u2019m hooked! It\u2019s so good for challenging your skills and practice as a nurse and giving back to beautiful communities and hospitals. I have had an absolute blast exploring on my days off and building new nursing skills. <\/em><\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t recommend Jake at BluePrint more. He made sure the whole process was smooth right from initial onboarding to travel and checking in regularly to make sure things were going well. I think feeling supported when going into new environments is vital for confidence and it was reassuring to know if I had any problems Jake would answer straight away.<\/em><\/p>\n

What advice would you give to other nurses who are considering travel nursing?<\/h3>\n

Every nurse is looking for something different in travel nursing and I think it\u2019s so important to find an agent who is able to listen and match you to what you are looking for. Travel nursing is a really fun way to see stunning parts of Australia, make new friends and building new nursing skills. <\/em><\/p>\n

There\u2019s so many amazing communities and beautiful parts of the country to see, and being able to immerse in these communities and make a difference makes me feel really grateful to be a nurse. My advice to anyone thinking about diving into the world of travel nursing is to take your time to find the right person to work with and then just go for it! I can\u2019t wait for my next adventure\/job.<\/em><\/p>\n
