At BluePrint Nursing, we\u2019re proud to support extraordinary nurses who go above and beyond. This week, we\u2019re shining a light on Nurse Elkie, one of our travel nurses who\u2019s been working closely with recruitment consultant Ali Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What did you enjoy most about your contracts?<\/h3>\n

I love the financial rewards that come with travel nursing. Being accommodated while renting out my home has helped me hit my personal financial goals much faster than I could in a permanent role. <\/em><\/p>\n

But beyond that, the best part has been the people. Making new friends, having fun with new colleagues, and expanding my professional network along the way.<\/em><\/p>\n

How was the accommodation on your placements?<\/h3>\n

The accommodation provided in the ACT was excellent. I couldn\u2019t fault it in any way. I\u2019ve only taken contracts within the ACT, so I can only speak to that, but my experience has been entirely positive.<\/em><\/p>\n

Was there anything you wish you\u2019d known before starting agency work?<\/h3>\n

Honestly, no. Everything was clearly explained to me from the beginning, and I never encountered any unexpected surprises.<\/em><\/p>\n

Would you recommend Ali and Blueprint Nursing to other nurses?<\/h3>\n

Yes, without hesitation. I highly recommend BluePrint. Their communication is outstanding, and Ali is an exceptional consultant. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their corner.<\/em><\/p>\n

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in travel nursing?<\/h3>\n

Take control of your CPD as early as possible. In permanent roles, we often rely on the training provided by the hospital and go with the flow. But travel nursing gives you the chance to explore different areas, so it’s important to think beyond your current scope. <\/em><\/p>\n

Look into rural and remote training, obstetric education, or anything else that interests you. It allows you to offer more in the locations you choose. In short, start preparing for where you want to go, not just what\u2019s expected of you.<\/em><\/p>\n
